Girls' Birthday Party Ideas: A Cooking Party
Do you have an aspiring master chef in the family? Well, if your little chef is about to have a birthday, what a better way to celebrate than to cook and bake? This party works best for a fairly small group, around 4 to 6 girls, but you can adjust it to work for larger groups. If you decide to do a cooking party, you can either make it a cooking party, a baking party, or a combination of the both.
If you want to do just a cooking party, you can have the girls cook lunch or cook dinner. If you want it to be really fancy, they can cook a multi-course meal. Whether you do lunch or dinner, you should consider doing a salad, especially if you think the girls will eat it. A salad might sound boring, but it is very good for this kind of party because you can make it a very hands-on experience. You can have some of the girls wash the lettuce, and some of the girls can cut the vegetables like tomatoes, olives, onions, or carrots, and some of the girls can make salad dressing.
After you make the salad, which you can place in the fridge or you can choose to do it last, you can move on to making the main course. A pasta dish is fairly simple, and it also has a lot of parts so that all the girls can participate. For example, some of the girls can cook the meat, such as ground beef, some can be in charge of the pasta, and some can be in charge of the sauce.
After the main course, you, of course, must have dessert. You can decide to bake a cake or make a more simple dessert, such as chocolate mousse or root beer floats. If you decide to bake a birthday cake, you might want to start baking the cake before you start cooking everything else so the cake will be ready around the same time that everything else is ready.
If you don't want to bother with cooking a meal, you can have a baking party where the girls bake the cake, and maybe they can bake another dessert like cupcakes. Also, if you have a lot of girls, it might be easier for them to make cupcakes so that everyone gets a chance to help out. You can also make it a competition between two teams, which is also useful if you have ten or more girls. Once you have split the girls into two teams, you make each one do the same cooking activity. The activities can be timed, or you can judge their final results. If you do not have a lot of room in your kitchen, you can let one group cook while the other does another activity. No matter who wins, everyone will be sure to have a great time, though you should be prepared for a pretty big mess in the kitchen and some pretty good food!
